2022 Tulips Forever Postage Stamps

In 2022, USPS released the Tulips Forever stamp. It was meant to be a bright and cheerful choice. These stamps are used on wedding invitations or greeting cards. But really, it could go on any First-Class letter.

The design is simple but striking. Photographer Harold Davis captured a bunch of tulips. The flowers overlap against a plain white background, so the colors stand out even more.

There wasn’t a big launch ceremony for this one. Instead, the First Day of Issue postmark came from Mount Vernon, Washington. That city is home to the famous Skagit Valley Tulip Festival held every spring.

Tulips themselves carry a lot of meaning. They’re one of the first flowers to appear after winter, showing up just after snowdrops and crocuses fade. For many, they mark the start of warmer days and brighter seasons.
